This is the first Bible that every child in our house has read from cover-to-cover!
We first found this Bible in a used book sale, in black & white, 7 children ago (so you can imagine that covers and pages and chapters are now missing) -- and then we found this updated version that's better than ever and in color!
Archbishop Fulton Sheen (soon to be beatified!) recommended this Bible, saying, "This Picture Bible for all ages is an excellent introduction to those who do not know the Bible and an excellent review for those who do.
Unlike traditional Bibles that often segregate stories, the Picture Bible seamlessly weaves together 233 Bible stories into narratives, creating a continuous and engaging reading experience. Another reviewer expressed, "I can see how this Bible will be engaging and encourage a child to 'read on' more than they might with a traditional Bible or one that keeps stories more segregated." This unique approach fosters a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of Scripture and inspires children to explore further.
Now updated with interesting new features, including "Did you know?" fact pages, time line, story listing, maps, and more, kids can follow the colorful pictures and storyline and engage their imaginations as they learn Salvation History!
One reviewer shared, "I purchased this for our Catholic school library, and I cannot keep it in the room! As soon as the children saw it, they wanted it."
Another mom shared, "This Bible has hardly been put down since it arrived. Our 9-year-old son is devouring it, and it makes this momma heart so happy!"

This illustrated hardcover brings Bible stories to life through graphic novel-style format. Customers said children "can't put it down" and read it cover to cover. Praised for engaging reluctant readers and making scripture accessible for ages 4-12. A few reported damaged covers upon delivery. Comic-book illustrations help children visualize stories.

The book has a large cutout on the back cover. I would have been very grateful if they had said that the book was on sale because it had a defect. I will only keep it very much to my regret because it is to use it at home with my daughters, but if I had ordered it as a gift I would have asked for a refund or replacement.
Besst Children Bible ever
My daughter and her family were going on vacation and had a long drive to their destination. I gave it to the kids to read on the way, and my daughter says that they love it. Two of them are taking turns reading it. They are7 and 9 years old and they read it to the 5 year old. Thanks!
I bought it as birthday gifts for two grandchildren, ages 8 and 9. Looked great to me, but I will have to let you know what they think after they receive them.
The Holy Heroes Picture Bible is a major action-packed enhancer of what I have been listening-to on The Bible In a Year with Fr, Mike. The Holy Heroes Picture Bible fully depicts in stunning quality visuals, in accurate dialogue, and in exact sequence what is authentically happening in the actual standard Bible, but the Picture Bible makes the standard Bible come alive. In addition, illustrated explanatory sections along the way clarify and discuss what was just read, expanding comprehension in an interesting way. Reading the Holy Heroes Bible is a superior Bible experience for anyone of any age. I have multiple copies ready to gift to whole families for birthdays this year because I have noticed something important: That is, in contrast to daunting plain text versions of the Bible, people get excited about the quality and "graphic novel" format of the Holy Heroes Picture Bible, greatly preferring to read it that way. It's exciting to see such interest in the Holy Heroes Picture Bible!
My kids love it! My son doesn't want to put it down!
I bought this illustrated Bible for our 12 year old Goddaughter for Christmas. Before I began wrapping it, I perused through it and I loved the illustrations! What a great way to get pre-teens interested in reading the Bible and allowing some of the images to get their imaginations working. Early Lectio Divina!
I'm not sure how they're saying Fulton Sheen promoted this, the Ten Commandments alone were the protestant version.
She loves it! She's actually reading it! And asking questions.
Great format. I enjoyed reading it myself.I think my grandsons will like it too. The pictures are well done.
The book is more than I expected. It gives a simple story of the Bible. I will read it and set it aside for my four year old great grandson. I plan to read it to him.
Thank you and God bless you 🙏🏻
I have looked over and read a good portion of this Bible and am hoping to use it as "homework" for my CCD class this year. I have taught older kids before and have given them a St. Joseph Bible. This year I will have 3rd and 4th graders in a combined class and thought discussing weekly assigned readings from the picture Bible might be a good way to combine discussion with the two different age levels, and include more participation by parents. Will let you know if this is a success after classes start in the fall.
This was the exact same Bible that I had received one Easter as a elementary school kid and now I get to buy one for my two children going through Faith Formation at our parish!
This is very nice book purchased as a gift for a 9 year-old and should be very appealing to the recipient as well as educational. Stories are abbreviated and include brief summaries. There are explanations throughout that provide information not easily included in the picture stories.
I would recommend this bible to others. I already suggested it to our teachers.
I bought this Bible per the recommendation of Dr. Brant Pitre. My 7 y.o. loves it, and I am learning a lot as well.
Really helped with my understanding of the bible. It is adds a little fun to reading the gospel as you get to see the stories drawn on the pages. I can say that this product is not just for kids and is helping me grasp more of the bible.
Awesome
Very pleased
My grandchildren already have this Bible in the black and white version. I am purchasing this new color version as an additional copy. They love this book especially my oldest grandchild Joe.
I plan to give the Holy Mysteries and the hardcover Picture Bible to my ten year old twin grandsons who both are interested in learning about their Catholic faith. These books should provide them with very interesting summer reading and both books are very high quality. The fact that Archbishop Fulton j. Sheen endorsed the bible while he was still living impressed me greatly and I believe he also would have liked the Holy Mysteries just as well. The drawings in the bible are very nicely done , in such a way as to attract children without being too cartoonist. Thank you for these books.
I ordered the Bible and both Lego Books for my Religious Ed Program of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, cochlear implants and hearing children. The students love the graphic stories. For this community of children pictures and ability to handle items means a lot to them.
I ordered the books and recieved them within a short time. I really enjoy the materials you offer. I wish there would be something I could do to have the stories of the saints with captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing. The hearing children in our program enjoy them, but the deaf students are unable to take advantage of the lives of the saints. Thank you for your wonderful materials. They have helped in our program.
Great Bible! My 6 year old loves it and has a hard time putting it down. He wanted a “real” bible but we wanted something more age appropriate for him and he was so excited. I flipped to a few stories that could have had details we didn’t want him reading yet and they covered the story without age inappropriate details. I was very happy about that!
I'm hoping to use these great books as a teaching text for my CCD class of 6th graders. They cover what our regular text covers, but with a more interesting format. Kids love stories and well-drawn graphics make them even more remembered. Some of my incoming students don't even know who Noah was! This will remedy that omission in a fun way!
I purchased this for our Catholic school library, and I cannot keep it in the room! As soon as the children saw it, they wanted it. I am so pleased with their response and excitement about reading the word of God.
This Children’s Bible is the best! We have been reading to our 6-year old— one (sometimes more) stories a night now for months, and our daughter still really, really looks forward to her Bible reading every night. The stories are suspensefully and dramatically told, which keeps her very engaged. We love it too! We’ve taken to giving one to each of her Catholic school classmates as part of a birthday gift, for birthday parties. But when they reach the age of reason, I think we might start giving one of the Lego Catechism books as well to classmates— those are Great companions to this Bible. We’ve read Our daughter other children’s Bibles, but this is the most engaging one. We’re so happy to see our daughter so eager to learn her Faith!
Great bible for children. Pictures add important dimension to scriptural stories.
I gave this book to my nephew for Christmas, and he was so excited to read it he forgot to open his other gifts!! Perfect gift for a nine-year-old!
It is a nice Bible, if it were for a teenager. I do not Think this will appeal to a 5 year old. I'm going to donate it to my church library.
What grade level is it meant for?
Ages 8-12. God bless!
