Joseph, the father of Jesus, was responsible for teaching his son how to work, pray and learn. An often unsung hero, he showed great faith during Mary’s pregnancy and great courage in protecting his unborn son from Herod. Clearly God trusted this good man to care for Jesus and Mary in all the ways a husband and father should. A carpenter by trade, Joseph is the patron saint of workers. Having died with Mary and Jesus by his side, he is also the patron saint of a happy death.
